The welcome party is a trend we have been seeing over the last couple of years. Rehearsal dinners are still very popular but are growing more intimate, and are occurring more and more on Thursdays. This leaves room on Friday night for a party for all the out of town guests! A bit more relaxed than the wedding reception, the decor, music, and food are toned down but certainly set the stage for the weekend.
One of our dearest couples, Kara and Justin, were married this May. The weekend started on Thursday with a wedding rehearsal at the church and then intimate dinner on the veranda at The Dye Clubhouse at Colleton River Plantation. A Floral Affair carefully hung lanterns above the long table, overlooking the majestic river and golf course, and guests dined on Chef Robert Wysong's fabulous cuisine. Hand cut palm fronds served as place mats and beautifully hand lettered place cards were tied to silver palm tree bottle openers. Two fun details we just loved and carried the theme throughout the weekend.
When planning your destination wedding, it's important to consider the whole weekend of events. Spencer Special Events also coordinates golf outings (and even family tournaments!), brunches, yoga on the beach, spa appointments, and bridal teas and luncheons. We can help set up beach games, lounging by the pool, and so much more.
How many events you choose to have is up to you -- and Spencer Special Events is here to help you along the way!
