Children's Miracle Network Torch Relay (Event Recap)

We wanted to take a few minutes and give a huge "thank you" to everyone who was able to support The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Torch Relay on Monday!  The Spencer Special Events Team had a great turn out with our staff and friends. We were able to raise several hundreds of dollars and enjoyed a fun and adventure filled afternoon that included our kiddos!  We were so proud of Case Spencer, who represented the The Marriott's Surf Watch Resort proudly, kicked off the race with enthusiasm and thanked the long list of participating sponsors and folks who made the event possible! Griffin and Russ stood proudly watching their daddy, too!  Here's a quick photo recap of this action packed afternoon for a fantastic cause. Thank you all for your support!

Children's Miracle Network Torch Relay

Hard to believe another year has gone by and the annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Torch Relay is on it's way here to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The 5K walk/run takes place at The Marriott Surf Watch Resort on Monday, October 27th, and will raise thousands of dollars for sick children in need with the generous support of our community.  And hopefully you!

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals treat over 17 million children annually, regardless of their condition or ability to pay. They treat 98% of children in need of transplants and 88% of children with cancer. Reading children's stories on their website is enough to make you put on those shoes and pull out those wallets! (Just read Emma's Journey here.) It's unfathomable to think of our own children having to endure sickness and can't imagine what sick children go through. Anything we can do to support CMN still doesn't seem like enough!  We think the organization is incredible and love putting on our walking shoes with friends to support the organization. The Children's Miracle Network Torch Relay 2013

Save the date!  The Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is coming to Hilton Head Island, SC on Monday, November 4th, 2013.  Spencer Special Events is so proud to be sponsoring a team for the third year in a row!

The event is a 5K walk or run on the beach of Hilton Head, right by the Marriott Surf Watch resort.  We like to bring the boys in a wagon, wear our comfy shoes, and walk with our friends.  At the end of the walk, there's a party catered by local restaurants and a band.  It's a big party with friends and family!

We feel lucky everyday that our children are healthy and cannot imagine what families with sick children have to endure.  Our prayers and thougths are with them and we hope to alievate some pain with this simple 5K walk.  It doesn't seem like it's enough but it is a start.

Our goal is to raise $2,000 and we have some work to do!  So we hope you will help support a great local Hilton Head cause and join us in our fundraising efforts.  Spread the word!  Share this with your friends. Help us reach our goal and support a very worthy cause.
