Oh, do we have a fun
post this week! One of our favorite parts of this "job" is
becoming friends with the brides we work with, and developing lasting
friendships with the sweet couples and their families. This is the case
again with our darling May 2015 bride and groom, Lauren and Colin, who could
not be any more adorable and such a pleasure to work with. We are so
excited to share photos from their fabulous New York
City engagement session by the exceptionally talented, Virgil
Bunao and their love
story, which also brings us back to why we do this for a living!
Meet our super cute
couple, Lauren and Colin!
Lauren and Colin met while Lauren was interning
at J.P.Morgan before her senior year at Washington & Lee University. Colin
had just graduated from Princeton and moved to New York when the couple was
introduced by a mutual friend. They
started dating officially after Lauren moved to NYC full time. After dating for five years, they enrolled at
Columbia Business School together and were engaged last October on a
"random Wednesday" after class. It was
extremely unexpected!
After celebrating with champagne, Lauren called
her best friend (and Matron of Honor) Becky, who sent her straight to voice
mail. Lauren called her mom who replied "that's great honey, but Dad and I
are on our way to dinner, I will call you after." What she didn't
know was that Mom, Dad and Becky were in on the surprise. Colin had
planned a special dinner at Landmarc nearby their apartment. When they arrived,
Becky, her husband, Lauren's parents, and Colin's best friend, Dave, and his fiancé
were all there to celebrate! They kept the night going after that with
champagne and cocktails at Stone Rose Lounge with a few of their closest
friends. What a fun engagement story for a "random” Wednesday
night!
For the engagement session, the Charleston-based
photographer, Virgil Bunao, flew up to New York City where Lauren and Colin
reside. Lauren wanted to get a mix of photos from uptown (where they live
together now) as well as downtown.
They started the day off in Central Park, close
to home, and then worked their way downtown. Lauren and Colin made
sure to stop at their favorite brunch spot in the West Village, Extra
Virgin, to take a few pictures before heading out to a friend’s rooftop
apartment. They then made their way to the meatpacking district, where the
couple danced the night away when they first started dating!
Perhaps Lauren put it best when she said how
impressed she was with Virgil's photographic eye and his ability to
"take harsh city lighting and hardscapes and make them seem soft and
inviting." Just take a peek at these stunning photos!

We can't wait until May 2015, we know this is going to be one special wedding and gorgeous bride and groom!

Lovely photographs!! In my opinion photographs make your wedding memorable and only professional photographer can capture your every moment. Well, I want to book Chicago Wedding Venues, one for my wedding and one for my reception and I am very confused. Please advise me.
